"In 1996, I was cutting the hair of a man who sat in my chair. And like I always did, I asked him, what he did for a living. He told me he was a researcher at the MSU. I said, what are you researching? He said, I am trying to come up with a substitute diet sweetener for one of the cola companies, that I can’t disclose. I told him about my experience with Aspartame. He said , that is what needs to be removed from the diet pop. He had an accent and so I asked him where he was from, he said Poland and he had been working on an alternative sweetener, with a 5 yr grant, that would be able to with stand heat and cold, and consequently would not change the taste of the cola. I told him that they used to put Saccharin in diet pop, and I had no problem with that, but I Reagan stopped that saying it could cause bladder cancer, and come to find out it doesn’t. It did in the lab on rats but we do not have the same enzymes the rats do. He then said, Asparatame and MSG is very toxic to humans, and your country now has those chemicals in over 5,000 of your food products. Your country needs to get that toxin out of your food chain, or will cause many medical problems. That is what I hope to be able to find is a alternative sweetner. I suggested, stevia….I think that is what he finally come up with …..but not true for the rest of food products……"
